The Boston Red Sox had 13 hits on the night, and they scored 12 runs, now that is what I call production at the plate!  Up and down the lineup, Red Sox batters piled on the RBI’s and the Red Sox went on for the 12-6 victory.

Sean Casey went 2-5 with a game high three RBI.  Manny Ramirez, Kevin Youkilis, J.D. Drew, and Coco Crisp all had two RBI each.  Kevin Cash didn’t want to be left out and had one RBI.

Tim Wakefield pitched five innings to pick up the win.  He only allowed one earned run on the night.  One other run did score but that was helped out by a Red Sox error.

One player that did have some problems pitching was Julian Tavarez who pitched .2 innings and gave up three earned runs.

The Red Sox record is now 5-5 after the victory over the Tigers.

The Boston Red Sox had a lack of offense on Friday night as they lost to the Toronto Blue Jays 6-3.  The Red Sox only scoring came off the bat of J.D. Drew when he hits a three run homer in the seventh inning.  Other then that, the Red Sox sucked on Friday!

Tim Wakefield pitching good until the sixth inning when Matt Stairs hit a homerun.  Wakefield then walked Alex Rios, struckout Vernon Wells, and walked Frank Thomas before Lyle Overbay hit a loop single that scored Rios.   Aaron Hill followed with a drive to deep center that Jacob Ellsbury tracked down but dropped as he collided with the outfield wall. Thomas came home as Hill was credited with an RBI single.

The Blue Jays tacked on some more insurance runs in the seventh and eight innings, but not like it mattered with the way the Red Sox hitters were hitting.  They didn’t have a shot at coming back in the game.  The Red Sox will try to get back on the winning ways on Saturday as they play the Blue Jays once again.
