The Boston Red Sox didn’t have any problems beating the Tampa Bay Rays on Wedneday night by the score of 5-1.  The Red Sox scored three runs runs in the third inning and then single runs in the fourth and seventh innings to get the win.

Five different Red Sox  players recorded rbi’s in the game.  Jacoby Ellsbury, J.D. Drew, Manny Ramirez, Kevin Youkilis, and Coco Crisp all had a rbi.  Pretty much every other batter in the lineup did some damage to the Rays pitching staff if you look at the box score.

Josh Beckett pitched six innings to pick up the win and improve his record to 6-4 on the season.  By only giving up the one run Beckett also lowerd his era to .

Manny Delcarmen pitched a scoreless seventh inning before Hideki Okajima pitched a scoreless eighth inning.  Craig Hansen was then brought in to pitch the ninth inning and finish the game.

The Boston Red Sox used a big four run sixth inning to come back and beat the Tampa Bay Rays 7-4 on Tuesday night in Boston.  Jason Varitek, Coco Crisp, and Jacoby Ellsbury all came up big in the sixth inning.

Lowell and Crisp led the Red Sox at the plate as they both had two rbi on the game.  J.D. Drew, Varitek, and Ellsbury all had one rbi as the Red Sox used production up and down the entire lineup to get by the fiesty Rays.

Justin Masterson picked up the win and is now 2-0 on the season.  Masterson pitched six innings and gave up six hits and four runs.  Three of the four runs came via two long balls that Masterson served up to Akinori Iwamura and Carlos Pena.

Manny Delcarmen, Javier Lopez, Craig Hansen, and Jonathan Papelbon all seen action out of the bullpen and they all did a pretty good job. Papelbon finished the game off and earned his 17th save of the season.

The Boston Red Sox didn’t throw a no hitter on Tuesday night but they did limit the Kansas City Royals to five hits as the Red Sox beat the Royals 2-1.  Two runs in the second inning proved to be enough for the Red Sox as they beat the Royals for the second straight night.

Julio Lugo and Coco Crisp both had rbi singles in the second inning for the Red Sox runs.  After that, the Red Sox offense struggled as they only had three other hits the entire game.

Justin Masterson pitched 6 1/3 innings to pick up the win.  Masteron is now 1-0 on the season as he allowed three hits and only the one run in the game.  Javier Lopez, Manny Delcarmen, and Hideki Okajima all pitched before Jonathan Papelbon came in to record his 13th save of the season.

Good win for the Red Sox even though they need to swing the bat better.  I’d expect them to do a good job at the plate tomorrow when they take on the Royals once again.  Red Sox Blog

David Ortiz connected on a two run home run in the ninth inning but the Boston Red Sox were unable to score two more runs to send the game to extra innings as they lost to the Los Angeles Angels 7-5 on Thursday afternoon.

Besides Ortiz’s two RBI, Coco Crisp also had two RBI as he had RBI’s in the second and fourth innings.  Kevin Cash also had a RBI in the fourth inning when he hit a ground rule double that scored Crisp.

Manny Delcarmen took the loss for the Red Sox as he gave up two runs and one hit without recording a hit.  Javier Lopez also pitched in the seventh inning and gave up two runs before Delcarmen.  David Aardsma also gave up a run out of the bullpen.

Justin Masterson started the game for the Red Sox and pitched six innings.  Masterson only allowed two hits and one run.  It’s really too bad that the bullpen stunk it up so much after Masteron left the game.

The Boston Red Sox won at home against the Texas Rangers with a score of 8-3 sweeping them in the four game series.  This makes Boston’s fifth game won in a row.  With David Ortiz coming out of his hitting slump and bad pitching from the Texas bullpen, it was an easy game for the Red Sox getting on base 11 times with walks.  Good win for the Red Sox on Patrios Day.

Ortiz who has been struggling to connect with the ball for the early part of the season seems to be coming out of his slump with two doubles giving him his first two of the season.  Dustin Pedroia and Julio Lugo each hit a double yesterday too.  Pedroia had two RBIs during the game and Ortiz had three RBI.  Jacoby Ellsbury and Lugo each picked up a RBI as well.

Clay Buchholz was the opening pitcher for Boston throwing for six innings and only giving up five hits and two walks but was able to get six strikeouts bringing him to 1-1 for the year.  David Aardsma, Javier Lopez, and Manny Delcarmen were brought it to finish off the Rangers.  The bullpen did have some trouble as Aardsma gave up two runs and Delcarmen gave up one run.

Boston will take on the Los Angeles Angels tonight at home for the first game of a three game series.  This should be a very good series as the Angels are playing some good baseball just like the Red Sox.  If you have a chance, get out there and watch this series and root the Red Sox on.
