As the Red Sox gear up to play the Phillies this weekend, Modell’s Sporting Goods is happy to announce that New Era, the official on-field cap of Major League Baseball, has introduced a new test line of Authentic Collection Low Crown 59FIFTY® Major League Baseball® caps that are now available in Modell’s stores throughout Massachusetts. The new “Low Crown” 59FIFTY caps are available for purchase for the Boston Red Sox for $34.99 SRP.

These caps are made with performance CoolBase technology and are custom designed with a low crown featuring an embroidered (raised) team logo on front and stitched Major League Baseball logo on the rear.  The caps are designed for an everyday fit that allows for optimal comfort.  Players and fans now have two options when it comes to which fitted caps they wear on the field and at the game.

One lucky reader of the site will receive one of the new low crown caps courtesy of Modells. We will be running a contest in the near future to determine a winner. If you want one right away, head on down to your local Modells and pick one up!

Hello to a brand new Red Sox Blog called RedSoxHomePlate!  The first question everyone is asking is “Can the Red Sox repeat as World Series Champions?”.  Well I don’t see why not!  Look at all the players the Red Sox have coming back.  The pitching rotation is awesome, Manny and Big Papi are back and ready to get Red Sox nation back to the World Series!

There is one really big question heading into Spring Training for the Red Sox however.  Will they be able to work a trade out for Johan Santana?  If the Red Sox can pull off that trade, wow!  That is pretty much all I can say!

It’s going to be another exciting year for the Red Sox, and we hope you will continue coming back to Redsoxhomeplate every day!  We hope you will take part in our discussions by leaving comments and letting us know your opinions.  We wish everyone in Red Sox nation Happy Holidays and GO RED SOX!
